Avenged Sevenfold (aka A7X) is an American band of heavy metal formed in 1999 in the city of Huntington Beach, California. The band came to mainstream with the album City of Evil. The band's success continued with his self-titled album and their 2010 album, Nightmare, recorded with Mike Portnoy due to the death of their former drummer, The Rev.
The Avenged Sevenfold started playing metalcore in their first two albums, but after a few years the band changed their musical style on the album City Of Evil and is now considered a revelation of heavy metal in the decade.
